Sunset didn't end the day
After years as an instructor and then as manager of a kite school I understood one thing: sunset wasn't the end of the day, but the start of a mountain of paperwork. Spreadsheets in three versions, WhatsApp messages to copy out, client accounts to rebuild from memory, instructor hours to recount at the end of the month.
I felt like I was running a stationery shop with a sea view, not a kite school. And every mistake had a cost: a lesson not written down, a forgotten deposit, a rental nobody could put a name to.
"We built Looply because the software we needed didn't exist."
Drawn in the sand, tested on the water
The software we tried was built for huge centres, with huge-centre prices, and none of it knew what it means to redo the schedule at eight in the morning because the wind has turned. So we wrote our own, on the beach, with the school open.
Every feature came from a real problem on a real day: the schedule with the wind hour by hour, the single account per client with the payment link, confirmed lessons that flow by themselves into the instructor's pay, boats organised in seconds.
Today
Looply runs every day at JC Kite Watamu, in Kenya, from opening to closing, from the phone on the beach and the computer in the office. That's where we improve it, one problem at a time.
Now we're opening it to other schools: kite, wing, surf, sailing, with or without boats, with or without accommodation. With a personal 48-hour demo, a 15-day free trial and a price made for real schools, not chains.
Why Looply exists
To give every water sports school, from the one with two instructors to the one with several locations, the tools to work better, grow and spend more time doing what it loves: being on the water.
